About two years ago Ruhr university Bochum finally switched from Blackboard to Moodle. It was a transgression over at least three years with a large user base and with partly quite intensive e-learning activities. During the process I developed a converter tool that did a great part of automatic course conversion. While coding I learnt a lot about the platform architecture.
